1924 - 2011

My adored father-in-law died yesterday.  He was a wise, gentle, and kind soul  We miss him already.

For any family and friends or anyone who feels moved to do so, the family is requesting that donations be made in the memory of John V. Raines to the local animal rescue foundation: For Paws Rescue.  This is a wonderful group of volunteers who have found homes for over 500 homeless pets.

Thanks so much for your warm support.

  9. Dear Kim and Mr. Kimbopolo, I am so sorry for the loss of your dear father. I hope the happy memories you created and shared will provide you with solace.

If I should ever leave you,
    Whom I love
To go along the silent way. . .
    Grieve not.
Nor speak of me with tears.
But laugh and talk of me
As if I were beside you there.

    (I'd come. . .I'd come,
Could I but find a way!
    But would not tears and
    And grief be barriers?)

And when you hear a song
Or see a bird I loved,
Please do not let the thought of me
Be sad. . .for I am loving you
    Just as I always have. . .

You were so good to me!
    There are so many things
    I wanted still to do. . .
So many things I wanted to say
to you. . . Remember that
I did not fear. . . It was
    Just leaving you
That was so hard to face.

We cannot see beyond. . .
    But this I know:
    I loved you so. . .
    'twas heaven here with you

  13. Kim...I haven't been reading blogs lately so I'm getting caught up...again. I'm so sorry for the loss of your father-in-law and the damage done to your house. What challenges have been thrown your way.

Just an FYI...I have a 2010 Winnebago View 24A for sale, if you're interested.

  14. Kim, I wanted to suggest that maybe you could get a very inexpensive used RV and still take your trip. It doesn't have to be a forever camper. Just one to take your sabbatical in. You could always upgrade to what you really want later.

I wanted a new Casita, but couldn't afford one, so I bought used. And I am thrilled with mine now.
