Savannah

A city I always enjoy visiting.  Even more now that I found an overnight spot just 2 block from the city center.  Here's the GDB parked next to another Roadie!

The Savannah Visitors Center allows overnight parking (max 24 hours) in dedicated RV spots for $8. Dry camping, of course.  The lot is level, well-lit, and patrolled.  If so inclined, you can catch the town trolley right outside your door.

Savannah offers an intriguing mix of art, architecture, and history.

Oglethorpe Park - one of the many park squares.

I love browsing the plentiful galleries, seeing what the artists are up to and, most of all, checking out their studio spaces.  Who wouldn't love this space in which to create?

There is much inspiration in this town!

Off to the coast ....

  4. Yay! Another road trip and blogging adventure! So happy you're bringing us along. I've only been to Savannah once, but of course we had to eat lunch at Paula Deen's restaurant. A fun (overpriced) experience. Have a great time!

  5. I was also wandering around downtown Savannah on Friday. What a coincidence! Beautiful city. We camped at Skidaway Island SP for 2 nights. Very nice campground with large sites. Good to know about the visitors center for shorter stays. Thanks for taking us along on your journey.
