Grand Haven, MI

Brrrrr ...........

And that's not just some Southern Girl's opinion - even the locals agree that it's damn cold.

Guess that's why I'm about the only tourist in this resort town.

Note the wind.

Grand Haven's famed beach on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan brings the tourists in from all over. Definitely a jaywalk town!

Pretty cottages all around.

And evidence that artists are in residence.

Friend Tammy gave me the low-down on staying downtown overnight. The city graciously dispenses 24-hour parking permits for $5.

Score!

The winds continue to plague, blowing at a steady 15 - 25 MPH.

By next morning, things had calmed down a bit.

  1. I like the houses and that painting of the kids flying kites looks similar to a Banksy painting.

  2. Good thing you had the foresight to bring headwear! Is that a short lighthouse with the water whipping up around it? That's a great shot - perfectly composed - and with interesting water splashing up. A great wall painting!!!
